This show totally delivered a 3 plus hour performance of1977’s Day On The Green in Oakland, the last Led Zeppelin show on US soil.

This is the 3rd time this week I’ve seen lead guitarist Brent Woods play.   On Monday, he played at the rock jam in Toluca Lake with James LoMenzo (bass) and drummer extraordinaire, Kenny Aronoff.  The evening also included a special appearance by Brian Tichy as well.  Then Brent played in an All Star Band at The Canyon Club on Thursday with Chas West.    So, this marks the second time this week I’ve also seen James LoMenzo (bass), Brian Tichy (drums/guitar), Chas West (vocals) and Kenny Aronoff (drums) up on stage.  These guys seem to always be playing live somewhere and that’s a great thing.

The Moby Dicks came onstage a little after 10:00 and tore through the entire set list from the Oakland show.   As always, the band was on fire.  They deserve a lot of credit for delivering such great bass lines, drumming, vocals, guitars, keyboards and everything else involved in recreating a three hour concert .  Highlights of the set included an acoustic set with some mandolin playing by Stephen LeBlanc, a very cool improvisational section during “No Quarter”, the Moby Dick drum solo, a guitar solo and cool Theremin work, with special appearances by Rob Clores on keyboards and Kenny Aronoff on drums, which freed up Tichy to play the double neck on Stairway to Heaven and into the encore.  Stephen LeBlanc looked overjoyed as he grooved and jammed throughout.  And being a member of Jason Bonham’s band, he’s obviously the real deal.    The show clocked in at over 3 hours and was exciting throughout the set.   This band just keeps getting better and better.   Look for another set list-themed show again soon.

The Moby Dicks also hung out with the crowd after the show.

It was a great evening for Led Zeppelin fans and people who enjoy excellent musicianship.
