Polish Blackened Death Metal pioneers Behemoth played the Hollywood
Palladium May 21st which was the last U.S. show of The Godless IV tour
which began in San Diego April 14th. The band formed by
frontman/guitarist Negal celebrated their 35th anniversary last year
was the 30th anniversary of their debut album Sventevith (Storming
Near the Baltic). The band has had the same lineup since 2004 with
drummer Inferno (joined 1997), bassist Orion (since 2003) and
guitarist Seth who joined in 2004. There have 13 album releases with
the newest being The Sh*t Ov God released last year. Seven of those
releases were from the current lineup. Before Behemoth took the stage
Immolation, Rotting Christ, and Deicide played. Behemoth played a 14
song set over an hour and 20 minutes beginning with “The Shadow
Elite,” and included “Conquer All,” “Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel,” “Ov
Fire and the Void.” The closing song was “O Father O Satan O Sun!”
Behemoth plays again June 6th in their home country of Poland at the
Mystic Festival followed by other major festivals Download, Hellfest,
and Tons of Rock then will tour across Europe in October.
