THE HARA -The Fallout Review by Leslie Synder

(Mascot Records)

A blanket of fear is literally smothering the life out of a magnetic, yet scathing alternative metal trio out of Manchester, United Kingdom courtesy of Mascot Records named The Hara.  This ominous trio vies the world as a very bad place to live in with the release of their torturous second album ‘The Fallout.’  This depressing album features twelve abrasive tracks about intense feelings of hopelessness and loneliness that seem to have no end.  Therefore, the world is in a rapid decent into an abyss of chaos filled with haunting vocals and heavy, slithering melodies that sound as though evil dragons are hurling fire at anything that is good in society.

The rapid descent into chaos begins to reveal itself deep inside the heart of a troubled man’s soul in the bone-jarring track “Trophy.” This track features screaming vocals and brooding melodies that sound like a man who has been raked over hot coals by those who er supposed to care for him, but did not. Now, the lonely man is full of overwhelming anger. Meanwhile, the rapid descent into chaos continues to antagonize an angry man in the frightening track “Stay.” This track features moaning vocals and howling melodies that sound like a pack of rabid wolves are howling at the yellow moon in the middle of a thick forest at midnight.  This track is a chilling tale about a troubled man who is having nightmares about is undesirable past for which there seems to be no escape no matter how hard he tries.

Finally, the rapid descent into chaos reaches its breaking point in the rebellious track ‘Kings.” This track features grow:  ling vocals and thunderous metal melodies that sound like a group of angry citizens will break out of prison and run.
