The tribute band craze is at an all-time high. More and more these days, larger venues are booking tribute acts and they are filling the places up.
Presented by Spektra Entertainment Group and featuring two of the acts on “The World’s Great Tribute Band” series, the “Replicated” tribute to Iron Maiden, Metallica and Rage Against the Machine show was nothing short of spectacular.
Take my hand……… we’re off to see a TRIBUTE BAND!!
Take my hand…… we’re off to DOWNTOWN DISNEYLAND!!!
This was a killer bill. With Friday evening traffic, it took quite a long while to get to the show.
Damage Inc. tore up the place with some good old thrash metal. They started with “Blackened” and “Master of Puppets” and dug deep into the Metallica catalog for some tunes the more die-hard Metallica fans absolutely loved. In a cool move, they shied away from some of the more popular, mainstream tunes that a casual fan would expect in a set. Like last time, the musicianship was quite incredible. The large crowd enthusiastically jammed out to the entire set. And there’s no denying that Christopher Knight, although having the same name as Peter Brady, is a dead ringer for James Hetfield in every way. With brother Kevin on bass, Tone DeCorte on drums and Chris Brightwell lighting up the lead guitar, this is definitely the band you want to have playing Metallica tunes live….
SET LIST:
BLACKENED
MASTER OF PUPPETS
FADE TO BLACK
HIT THE LIGHTS
THE FOUR HORSEMEN
MOTORBREATH
JUMP IN THE FIRE
PHANTOM LORD
NO REMORSE
WHIPLASH SEEK AND DESTROY
DIE DIE MY DARLING
BATTERY
CREEPING DEATH
The band:
Christopher Knight – vocal/guitars (James Hetfield)
Tone DeCort – drums (playing Lars Ulrich’s parts)
Chris Brightwell – lead guitars (playing Kirk Hammet’s parts)
Kevin Knight – bass (“Jason Trujillo” – ha ha)
Shortly after the conclusion of Damage Inc.’s killer set, The Iron Maidens took the stage and also gave a crushing performance.
They started with “Aces High” and proceeded to play a nearly flawless set with tons of Iron Maiden classics, including “The Trooper”, “Number of the Beast”, “Run To The Hills” and many more songs that made for a great performance. With incredible musicianship and a great stage show, this band rightfully deserve its spot on “The World’s Greatest Tribute Band”.
Luis Villegas from Heavy Mellow was also there. Luis rocks flamenco versions of heavy metal songs on guitar. Heavy Mellow plays incredible versions of “Aces High” and “Wasted Years” and he’s actually sat in with The Iron Maidens on guitar at a previous show. Coincidentally, they also play an incredible version of “Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica.
Damage Inc. was featured on AXS TV’s The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands in its’ inaugural season. They completely rocked it on live TV, just as they did last night.
Heavy Metal Hill covered that show before, during and after the event.
The Iron Maidens are also going to be performing on AXS TV’s The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands on September 9 hosted by Katie Daryl.
The band:
Kirsten “Bruce Chickinson” Rosenberg – vocals
Linda “Nikki McBURRain” McDonald – drums
Courtney “Adriana Smith” Cox – guitar

Nita “Mega Murray” Strauss – guitar
