What a wonderful heavy metal Friday evening at the House of Blues Sunset with a
cool party in the Foundation Room and a spectacular concert in the concert hall with a heavy metal icon.

I must have inadvertently overlooked Doro and Warlock back when the song "All We Are" was in heavy rotation on MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball during the 80s.

I expected a good show, but this one really surprised me.

Upon arriving entering the concert hall with the show already in progress, the band was on fire. I had no idea how hard this was going to rock.

Doro has a great stage presence and she looked fabulous. And she was really cool with the audience, just as she was when she made a recent appearance on That Metal Show.

Her band has two long-standing members and two relatively new guitarists. There was plenty of great soloing and the band jammed all the tunes. Notable former Doro/ Warlock band mates include Frank Ferrer (current Guns-N-Roses drummer), Jon Levin (current Dokken guitarist) and Bobby Rondinelli (drummer for Rainbow, Quiet Riot, BOC, Black Sabbath, etc.)

I admittedly only really knew the Warlock hit and her blazing rendition of Judas Priest’s "Breaking The Law", but all the songs, both old and new, were exceptional.

She jokingly told the crowd to go to the next show in Arizona. After seeing the show, that actually doesn’t sound like a bad idea, nor does checking out the current and past Doro/Warlock recordings.
