This show was on a rather creepy Saturday evening at the House of Blues Sunset. It rained a bit and was just an all around odd night in terms of the scene and the vibe.
What’s cheaper? Buying you kid a ticket to the show or getting a babysitter?
There were a surprising number of youngsters on hand to enjoy some thrash metal and hold up the horns at this ultra-packed and sold out show.
Several very young kids seemed to really be enjoying the show. Ever see a 4 or 5 year old kid rocking out to Overkill? That was unexpected.
This show was really good, but the one in Anaheim seemed to sound better and had a better crowd. Both headlining bands sounded better at the prior venue. This show did have a slightly better set list for Testament, as they played a killer version of “Trial by Fire”.
Seeing lots of people being kicked out was pretty entertaining. The bouncers did a good job at removing people. One after another, people were given the boot from the pit. One guy was carried out with his feet about a foot off the ground, another tried to get tough with a bouncer that he had no chance against ad there were other random “ejectees” that seemed rather displeased. People can be pretty funny when they get thrashed at a thrash concert.
HOBSunset: Set times (subj to change): Testament 9:30, Overkill 8:25, 4arm 7:35, Kauze 6:45
